Numerals on German fighters

Hi,
Who knows when numerals replaced chevrons, bars, etc. on German fighters ? I suppose that was at the beginning of 1945, but am I right ?

Re: Numerals on German fighters

We can found some up to the end but they were more and more scarce. I always thought that the removal was at pilot's initiative, not that it was an order/directive from high command.

Re: Numerals on German fighters

Hello,

I have the same asking about the chevron associated with numbers.

For exemple : JG 52, Chevron 1, Chevron 2, Chevron 3 at Neubiberg May 1945.
And some other units ? SG 2 ?
Some Other units had a Chevron with a letter. SG 10 ?

Thank you.
Best regards,
Lumabe.
