B-17 G Lucky Strike, serial 44-6383, 8.AF 490th BG/ 850th BS
A friend was doing a long time research concerning the crash of B-17G "Lucky Strike", serial 44-6383, 8.AF 490th BG/850th BS.
This plane was shot down by flak on April 9th, 1945, near Munic in southern Bavaria. Pilot was 1/Lt. William S. Schoenfeld from Brooklyn, New York. The another names of the crew: Schar, Fraser, Swallow, Bereck, Alexander, Smith, Malmstedt and Wrampe. MACR 13909. 2 KIA 7 POW. We are currently looking for a picture of the AC and the crew of this B-17 and of course any other information concerning this AC. In advance many thanks for any support. Regards from bavaria Lino |

Hi Revi16,
you are right, the serial was 44-6303. I have checked the MACR again. I'm sorry for misspelling. Thanks a lot also for the link you have provided, it's very interesting to read the section in the book with the eyewitness stories. Regards from bavaria Lino |
