Re: Bf 109 G-6 lost Stolpmunde

This list is not reliable regarding the unit of the losses. Examples:

_ On 10 May 1943 the Bf 109 D-1 WNr 2928 of 3./JG 104 was damaged beyond repair (at 85%) in a landing accident due to pilot error on Fürth-Herzogenaurach airfield. The student pilot, Uffz Wilhelm Sigl, was wounded.

_ the IAR 80 lost on 21 May 1943 was not from JG 103, and was lost in Rumania.

_ On 8 June 1943 two airmen of JG 104 (an operational training unit) were killed at Großdechsendorf in an midair collision: Lt. Hans Roßbach was flying Bf 109 D-1 WNr 2312 and Uffz. Dalka Hermann the Ar 96 WNr 4388.

_ On 2 July 1943 the Bf 109 D-1 WNr 2608 "Red 102" of 2./JG 104 (a Luftwaffe operational training unit) crashed and burned in the center of the city of Nürnberg (Nuremberg). The pilot, Uffz Joachim Beckert, bailed out and survived with wounds. The cause of the accident was listed as "pilot error".

_ On 12 July 1943 Lt Rolf Vielhauer of 2./JG 104 was killed when his Bf 109 D-1 WNr 2476 crashed and burned at Ohrenbach, 10 km NNE Rothenburg ob der Tauber. The aircraft was a 100% loss.

Search "JG 103" on this forum and you will find several of my queries regarding entries in this list.
