T971 and KTB K.G. 55

AFAIK there should be parts of Kriegstagebuch K.G. 55 on microfilms within T971 group. Could anyone confirm this, and if yes then what are the exact dates?

Regards,
Pawel

Re: T971 and KTB K.G. 55

OK, just found out that III./55 Kriegstagebuch from summer 1943 should be on roll 9. But are you aware of any other Lw.-unit KTBs (in any archive that sells copies like BAMA or NARA) from summer 1943 in the East, and if yes, could you post their signatures?

Thanks in advance,
Pawel

Pawel
I don't have any information on KTBs, although I would be interested in it. However I thought I would let you know that the price of NARA microfilms went up on Oct 1 to $68 for shipping in the US, and I think $72 for shipping outside the US.

Frank.

Re: T971 and KTB K.G. 55

Frank, yes I know the price was doubled recently. As for KTBs there are some of them within T971 - and the guide is available in pdf. Unfortunately the guides for other Luftwaffe-related record groups seem to be available only as microfilm - four or five rolls from T176.

Pawel

Re: T971 and KTB K.G. 55

If my notes are correct the T971 KTB for KG 55 are on reel 63 for 1942-Aug 1944, 1941, 1943. I did not look at them in detail, so cannot confirm the exact dates or whether there are gaps.

Best regards,

Artie Bob

ArtieBob, interestingly pdf guide ends with roll 61 Do not know what to think about it... However following is listed for roll 9:
25 June-18 September 1943 – 4376/676
War Journal No. 11 of the 3rd Group of the 55th Bomber Wing. Theater of War: Stalino, Russia.

Pawel

Re: T971 and KTB K.G. 55

ArtieBob and Michael, big thanks.

By the way... there is following entry in T971 Roll 4 directory:
6 October 1942-3 July 1943 – 4376/137
War Journal No. 9 of Dive-Bomber Wing 2 Immelmann. Combat zone Russia, especially around Stalingrad.

Did you by any chance have found other parts of above KTB, namely for July-August 1943?

Regards,
Pawel

Thanks also to your warning, Frank, I was able to place an order for several microfilms in the 11th hour - the 12th hour, according to European logic
Thanks, again.

Re: T971 and KTB K.G. 55

Pawel,

I haven't seen anything on St.G.2/SG2 in either T-321 or T-405.

The St.G.2 KTB on T-971 (roll 4) is only about 75 frames.

The largest KTB in the T-971 collection, is the Stab/JG77 KTB on roll 5 (about 800 frames).

Michael
