Re: KG100 Brest

3038 seems to be the only one listed in the appendix to Ulf Balke's "Kampfgeschwader 100, Wiking" and I don't have any prisoner interrogation reports for KG 100 aircraft lost on that date.

Re: KG100 Brest

Hello Nick nd Phil,

The question is that I hv 3 crews at that date among the casualties, Lamp+fabry+schott+Stotter for the 9.KG100 2.POW 2 MIA,

Schmidt+Reidenbach+Hofgartner+Dabitz from the 7.KG100, but Reidenbach is from the 8. nd Hofgartner from the 9. all MIA

nd

Schirmer+joos+Siewert+Pohl from 8.KG100 all MIA with Pohl possible POW

Re: KG100 Brest

According to Dabitz, his crew was a mixture of 7, 8 & 9 Staffel personnel. His normal crew was Peter, Hofgartner, Schwetzer and himself. This action has been mentioned before in this forum

Remi: What do you mean? You have the crews from all 3 aircraft and as Phil says, only 3038 is mentioned in the Balke book suggesting the information was not available on the NVM

Re: KG100 Brest

No we hv just two planes, one of the 2 cited by Phil is the M-1 3038

So M-1 is the one of Fabry+lamp+..

the K of the reports is the one of crew Dabitz+Reichenbach+..

Remained the last crew without plane...

I mean at my sense..

Re: KG100 Brest

All

I am not sure why everyone says Balke only mentions ONE loss on the date in question. At least in the edition I have of the Motorbuch Verlag all three losses are stated on page 415. However it seems only ONE WNr is known, so only ONE loss is given in the WNr summary pages 436-458

Cheers
Stig

You must have the whole book but unfortunately I don't! I was once lucky enough to borrow a copy for a project I was working on and I took various notes plus a copy of the Werk Nummer list.
