Re: Anyone info on P-47C 41-6335

After some more browsing I found that 41-6335 had a name: ' El Jeepo'.
See serial number on the tail of the plane.
Name is based on the character Eugene the Jeep from the Popeye & Olive Oyl cartoon. The Jeep is painted on a shiled on both sides of the plane.
On the picture the marking is HL-B, at the time of the crash it was HL-A.
The website of the 78 FG mentions J.H. Johnson was POW. He must have survived the crash.

If interested, I have the MACR on this, which contains a couple of Combat/Loss Reports by other 78FG pilots....

Re: Anyone info on P-47C 41-6335

Surely I'm interested.

I found a picture of a plane wreck (only motor on the picture) wich fell near my house.
I think it's this plane.
