JG 52 - any good books?

Hello all,
Can anyone tell me if there are any good books in the English language that relate to JG 52? I am in the process of writing up a wehrpass to a pilot who flew on 14 sorties with the Geschwader during the Battle Of Britain, including on the big attack on 15th Sept 1940, but it is proving hard to flesh the research out with the actions/movements of JG 52 during this period. I have the Osprey book (and have used Lexikon & ww2.dk websites) on the unit but that is about it.

Not in English yet - except probably 'The BoB, Then & Now' which covers all the actions, LW & RAF - though likely not to the level of detail you're looking for. In German there are books by Prien and company (Die Jagdfliegerverbände series) or Bernd Barbas (Die Geschichte der _______ JG 52 - pick your Gruppe). What will probably be the most detailed study on this matter, from Larry Hickey's EOE group, is still a few years away from publication.

Thanks for the pointers. I have the BoB T&N and while it is handy it doesn't cover the level I am looking for.
Considering that there are some great books in the English language on numerous JG's that provides great details it is a bit surprising that there is yet to be one on JG 52 when you consider the interest that surrounds a lot of its individuals and actions.

Do not forget the excellent and cheaper "Batailles Aériennes" on JG52. Written in French but very good work :

Re: JG 52 - any good books?

There was a thread about the two "Batailles Aériennes" issues on 12OCH, in which you may find more details about them :

Let's just remark that the criticism I then made about these publications do not apply to the first part about JG-52's operationnal history in the West, which is quite good.

Nico.

Thanks for the pointers to the Batailles Aériennes issues. I don't speak French but from what has been written by members here about the books I'm sure that I will still be able to get something out of the 1st Volume which judging by the contents covers the era I am after perfectly.
