Unit emblem Me-109- Belgium - help with recognizition

I refer to the picture of the Me-109 at bottom right (can be enlarged), reportedly made at the little used Brugge-St. Kruis airfield in the early war years: https://luchtvaartgeschiedenis.be/co...ugge-vliegveld

Not being a Luftwaffe expert myself: who can recognize the unit emblem near the cockpit? This to perhaps identify one of the few German aircraft that made an appearance there.

All help appreciated.

Regards,
Leendert

It is indeed the main JG 52 shield.
But what is behind it?
Am I just imagining things or could it be the startled (angry) cat of 4./JG 52?

Cheers
Stig

René,

Thanks. Picture perhaps in the short period (26 Feb-6 Mar 1941) that II./JG 52 moved from Berck-sur-Mer to Maldegem by way of St. Kruis (Male)...

Groet,
Leendert

Missed the second emblem seen here alongside the 4./JG52 "Arched red cat" emblem.

Stig,

It could very well be the cat of 4./JG 52. Emblem of this was reduced to this size by April 1941, as other pictures show at Maldegem, I now found.

Leendert
