Luftwaffe War Correspondent Watch Relic

I have asked this last year but thought i would ask again and see if any new members have any thoughts.
I am lucky enough to own a German watch taken from a downed Luftwaffe
JU88-A5 of 11/KG30. Werk 317 4D+DM. This JU88 was shot down over England on 16th October 1940. The Watch is actually a "Record Watch CO Genf" and is a German Army issue with a D430623H serial number on the rear. It was removed from one of the dead crew in 1940 by an English fireman and still worked !!! as it does to this day.

My questions are :

As it is not Luftwaffe issue is it likely to have belonged to Anton Doppelfeld who was a Kriegsbericher ( War Correspondent ) on the aircraft ?

Is it possible he served with the Army as a Correspondent in 1939 / early 1940 before transfering over to the Luftwaffe and so was given the army watch?

Or did all war correspondents get basic Army training ( and perhaps issued with a watch ) before being sent to either the Army, airforce or Navy?

I am sure it must be his as the rest of the crew were 100% Luftwaffe.

And yes i give the watch all the respect it deserves.

Any thoughts ?

Thanks
Jon
