Bordflieger fw62 - Unit 196

Having a luftwaffe dagger which is inscribed "Unserm Einheits Fuhrer zum 28 Geburtstag T3/VIII" I would dearly like to learn more about this Pilot. I'm assuming he could have been on the Battleships as a reconnaissance Pilot?
