Re: E-bay question - wrecked Hurricane France 1940

Could it be a Kestrel-engined Master ?

Re: E-bay question - wrecked Hurricane France 1940

I would say spot on Udf

The under belly air intake fits and also the (now missing glass) landing light in the port wing.

A number of Miles aircraft were taken to France and used as 'hacks' and this seems to be one of them.

Cheers
Stig

At least two Masters were used, not as hacks, but to convert Gladiator pilots from 607 and 615 Squadrons onto the Hurricane.

Faenor

I would say you have a mix of two Hurricanes and a single Master in these three shots.

Hi,

The caption gives Auchy-au-bois and this village is just beside (south) of the airfield of Norrent-Fontes/Rely.
