Me 110 aircraft in the area flugplatz Wormditt.

Welcome.

Referring to post No. 16 dated 25.05.2013 - Flugplatz Wormiditt:
"The first plane crashed 4 km from the airport Wormditt in the village of New Manor / NEUHOF (3km north of Orneta / Wormditt). I suppose it could be FW190 and Me110. "
After the identification of the remains of the aircraft, we know that it was a plane Me 110.
Luftwaffe air units stationed with Me 110 at the airport Wormditt:
1. NJG 5 was based at the airport 08.1944-10.1944
2. 5./NJG 102 was based at the airport in 1941
Please kindly help in obtaining information about falls aircraft Me 110 near Wormditt (East Prussia).
Today, the town is named Orneta (Poland).
Thanks in advance for your help
Regards
Robert

Re: Me 110 aircraft in the area flugplatz Wormditt.

Robert,

this may be the crash you are looking for:

Bf 110G-4 WNr. 720014 7J+CP of 5./NJG 102, crashed near Wormditt 19.07.44 due to defect of oxygen supply. Pilot Uffz. Günter Eisen and observer Gefr. Wünsch both killed.

All other incidents with planes of 5./NJG 102 and III./JG 5 at Wormditt were accidents at the airport itself with small damage.

Merlin
thank you very much for the information.
Probably your data on a plane that we found.
It is surprising color to paint the aircraft. Many elements painted in green.
NJG is a unit of Luftwaffe aircraft which is painted a dark gray color (night fighter).
This may be the case that we found most of the wreckage painted green.
Do you have data where pilots buried?
