LtCdr Wayne Robert Cheal USN
XO VF-53 USS Phillippine Sea 1954
Born 8 June 1921. Enlisted in the Navy 10 July 1941. He is listed in 1949 as "AvXR" is that Aviator in the Navy Reserve? Made Lieutenant 1 March 1945. I assume he saw combat in WW2. Any help gratefully accepted. K |

Lt (jg) Wayne R. Cheal is among the personnel of VF-81 on 1 Oct 1944. See https://catalog.archives.gov/id/134376652?objectPage=8
