Does anyone have the full name of his R/O, Sgt (later F/Sgt) L Rackham, and his serial number?

Re: Flt Sgt J H Peters 68 Sqn
Not without some more clues
3 Possible Louis Rackham 658289 Leslie Rackham (190959) Leonard Arthur Rackham 642520 I am going with tentative (based on his commission) to Pilot Officer from Warrant Officer 658289 Louis RACKHAM (190826). 13th Jan. 1945 Leslie Rackham can I think be excluded His rank on commission is wrong and anyway he may have been in Canada in 1944 ROYAL AIR FORCE VOLUNTEER RESERVE. GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH. Appointment to commission. As Plt. Offs. on prob. (emergency): — Sgts. 18th Jan. 1945. 1684778 Leslie RACKHAM (190959). The only other one is Leonard Arthur Rackham 642520 but he never commissioned no does his other initial fit unless anyone can prove otherwise |

Re: Flt Sgt J H Peters 68 Sqn
Paul,
What I have on L Rackham, is with 68 Sqn: Aug 17, 1943, at 2348, observer with Peter's shoot down of Do 217, as Sgt May 15, 1944, at 0127, observer with Peter's shoot down of He 111, as F/Sgt I would think that with two successful combats it is quite likely that he would have been promoted to W/O, and then as noted to P/O. Which argues for Louis Rackham. Leslie Rackham was promoted from Sgt, not F/Sgt, so I would exclude him. So Louis it is, in my files. Many thanks. Enjoy! Frank.
