Russian P-40 AK295 shot down 1 Feb 1942
Hi guys
AK295 was apparently shot down on 1 February 1942, the first P-40 lost on operations in the Far North. However, I have no record of any Luftwaffe action, let alone claim, for that date. The pilot, Ljt Adam Kontsevoi of 147-IAP survived. Cheers Brian UPDATE: I'VE SINCE BEEN ADVISED THAT AK295 WAS NOT SHOT DOWN BUT CARRIED OUT AN EMERGENCY LANDING DURING AN OPERATION, IN WHICH THE PILOT WAS BADLY INJURED.
