Allow us to present our project... School of virtual pilots VSI Continues the project VSI WAR based on DCG by Lowengrin. The theatre of Operations will be transferred to the territory of Cuban, USSR, 01.06.1942 year! Aircraft will be upgraded according to front line promotion and development of operations. Briefly about rules of the project: - It is forbidden to fly for both sides on the same map. - Deliberately flying for the opposite side with aim to destroy as many aircraft or ground targets of opposite side as possible (by dropping bombs under own aircraft immediately after spawning on the airfield, for example) is strictly forbidden. Whose who will try to do something like this will be banned for a very long period of time. - Vulching is permitted without limitations. - Paratroopers shooting is permitted without limitations. - Lives limit per mission - 3. Basic info about "how it works": Aircraft losses are replenished once per week by 4 wings (that's it, if your side will lose more than 4 wings of aircraft per week, it will have no planes to fly one beautiful day ). Due to weak Luftwaffe resistance to massive VVS offensive strikes Germans were pushed back on Crimean territory. Frontline is now on border between Kerch and Crimean peninsulas, and heavy fighting goes on. Luftwaffe and VVS gathered all availaible forces to fight for air superiority and support ground troops. The war continues. Who will prevail?

Good time of day.
I am representative of the VSI IL-2 virtual pilots school. Not long time ago we started an online-war IL-2 project based on DCG by Lowengrin. Briefly about it. In this project we are trying to simulate WW2 air war on Eastern Front as close to the reality as possible. Attack aircraft may (and must) destroy enemy troops on frontline and enemy reinforcements on the way to front, thus reducing enemy's ability to fight and assisting in moving frontline to own side advantage. Fighter aircraft may (and must) provide cover for own attack aircraft and intercept enemy attack aircraft, thus helping own ground troops to survive and to hold the frontline. We have some russian-speaking people participating in our project since it start, and more people are coming. Now we want to invite some people of English-speaking community to take part in our project. |

Some more info about us.
Limits 1. Live limit. For now it is 3 lives per mission (1 real day). 2. Planeset. It is mostly historical, thought balanced a little. 3. Side. You have to fly for one side in single operation. But you are permitted to switch side on next operation. Frontline is moved by armored units. So, if where are no armor units near frontline, frontline will not be moved. So, attack aircraft have primary objective of attacking enemy armor (to assist own armor to move frontline). Fighter aircraft have primary objective of protecting own armor against enemy attacks. And bomber aircraft have primary objective of bombing enemy bridges(they will stay destroyed for 4 days) and supply columns in 15-20 km range from frontline to prevent reinforcement of enemy's frontline units. So, if both sides have their frontline armor destroyed, frontline won't be moved until reinforcements arrival to red or blue. FAQ: Q: Nothing to bomb, all ground targets are destroyed A: We are trying to simulate real war, but of course not 100% historically accurate. War is going on in real time, meaning 1 virtual day = 1 real day. Map restart is on 18:00 local time every day. This means which generator puts new ground targets and moves frontline according to the summary of actions of passed day (destroyed planes and ground targets). So, "all ground targets are destroyed" is a normal situation cause war is going on and units may be lost due to attacks of the enemy. At 18:00 targets will be recreated according to a new situation on map. Q: Where are red units on blue part of map, are they lost they way or something? A: Generator is moving frontline, but sometimes it doesn't moves ground targets according to new frontline position. In 1-2 days blue units will be moved to the area, and red units will be destroyed. Or you can destroy them yourself . For example, luftwaffe field near Anapa was empty yesterday before map restart, AAA was placed where after restart, and maybe today airplanes will be placed where as well. Q: Briefing is not displayed, only info about previous events availaible. A: Is is ok. Briefing will be displayed after you will choose your plane. There will be no direct target for mission, only sectors where active fighting goes on will be listed. You can also use <target console command. |

Development of VSI WAR project goes on.
First steps was Crimea41 map and to test DCG and check what we can do using it. When step 2 was made - Cuban42 map. We desided what it will be good to use most realistic planeset possible. However, frontline position will not be realistic, it will be moved according to player's activity. No we doing step 3, which we called VSI WAR - 65, meaning what each real day corresponds to WW2 day (real date - 65 years). So, today it is Semptember, 03 1942 on our server. Theatre of operations is Cuban. To be continued. Comment: After heavy fighting German Army was able to concentrate armored strike force and start major offensive operation in Crimea. Air operations were very limited, due to poor weather. Red army suffered heavy losses and was driven back to Cuban. September,1st,1942. Germany offensive in Cuban begins. |
