Fort William, Ontario - ID of a/c May 1945

I refer to the picture on top of p. 193 in following link: https://www.canadiangeographic.ca/si...s/blog/ddt.pdf

Two questions:

1) Can the airplane at far left be identified as a USN SBC2/SBW Helldiver produced by Canadian Car & Foundry at same airport? (Port Arthur and Fort William were twin cities, now called Thunder Bay)

2) The 4 x Canso used in the DDT experiment in May 1945 were drawn from RCAF Eastern Command.
I wonder from just one of the 4-5 Canso squadrons at that time in Eastern Command or were these 'pool' aircraft?

Thanks for any info.

Regards,
Leendert

In answer to your question 1):

The aircraft is undoubtedly SBW-5 BuNo 60212 and the photo was probably taken in June or early July 1945.
