FW190 bulk questions

Greettings all,

here you are one image which I have download few weeks ago from some Czech web site.



To regret during the cleaning up files from PC I have deleted saved web sites and to regret I don't know where I did not find this and can not give proper credit. Could anybody point on the source?

About this image I would like to ask about the unit of this plane? Markings are very interesting as well late war camouflage pattern.

Hi!

All images (whether owned or on the web), are public domain...so you do not necessarily have to worry about giving credit as there is no copyright on WW2 German images.

I am not sure on the unit, but from what I recall, numbers on the nose indicated a training unit. Fw190 is not my expertise, but maybe someone else will be able to narrow it down for you...

Hhhhhhhhmmmm.... not public domain until this is proclaimed or pass some time. This is not German image but image bellong to some Czechoslovakian who made this after the war. This is my opinion. Web is designed to share knowledge but minimum of respect is to place credit when you use material.

Your opinion is interesting- is the number on cowling the reasoin you think that this is trainer unit? For me this is very interesting image. If somebody find site and link, you will see a great number of amazing images.

Dear Pilot,

The picture you post is part of a whole serie of very fine photographs of abandonned Bf 109 G-10, G-14 and Fw 190 A's, all taken at Plzen airport in June 1945 and posted on a web site which eludes me at the moment. Am looking for it an will let you know ASAP.

This image published in the superb JaPo book, Luftwaffe Over Czech Territory 1945, on the bottom of page 61.

Image taken at Ceske Budejovice of a Fw 190 F-8/R-1, Black 6. Assigned to St./SG 10 according to the caption.

Does it mean that all of the FW190 photographed there are from the same SG. 10 unit?

Mark (Proulx) is correct, this series of images was taken at Budweiss (České Budějovice).

The series has also been partially published in WWP Luftwaffe over the Czech Terrotory.

Most (if not all) of the Fw 190s at Budweiss were SG10s, predominantly Stab. and III. Gruppen.

The six obviously Stab. aircraft (1-+- to 6-+-) are indeed Stab./SG10.

In the series of photos, there's also Stab.I./SG10 (K>) and I./SG10 (Black 12).

There's also a scrapyard photo that shows many aircraft of III./SG10, as well as those above.
