Who shot down German aces (Sattig, Bauer, Lescher, Macher) on 10 August 1942?

Hi, everybody:
I noticed that on 10 August 1942 occurred a rare feature - 4 German experten were shot down by Soviet fighters. Those aces were:
* Carl Sattig, 56 victories, Staffelkapitan of 6./JG 54, was downed and captured near Rzhev (probably by 485 IAP Hurricane pilot Georgiy Zimin? I need to corroborate whether this is correct or not).
* Viktor Bauer, 106 victories, Staffelkapitan of 9./JG 3, was shot down during the early stages of the Battle of Stalingrad. Bauer was so heavily injured, that was unfitted for flying again.
* Helmut Macher, 23 victories, I./JG 53, downed and killed, also in the early stages of the Battle of Stalingrad.
* Heinrich Leschert , also 23 victories, 3./JG 53 (downed and killed by debris of the MiG-3 he was shoting at?), also in the Battle of Stalingrad.
It might be possible to determine who was the victors of these experten? Furthermore the possibility that Sattig's defeater had been Georgiy Zimin (I am not fully sure) I found the following claims for Bf.109 kills in the Stalingrad area that day:
* Mikhail P. Nekrasov (Yak-1, 148 IAP/269 IAD)
* Ivan A. Pishkan (Yak-1, 6 IAP/269 IAD)
Were there other claiminants that day? Could be determined if any of them shot down any of these German aces?

It appears from J. Prien's JFV 9/III that Sattig fell victim to a gunner of a Pe-2. According to M. Bykov's book that Georgiy Zimin had no victories between 16Jun42 and the 13Mar43.

10 August 1942: Leutnant Helmut Macher of 2./JG 53, prisoner of war after Bf 109 G-2 "Black 11" (W.Nr. 13 431) was hit in cooler by ground fire southwest of Stalingrad, baled out, 100%

10 August 1942: Oberfeldwebel Heinrich Leschert of 3./JG 53, missing in Bf 109 G-2 "Yellow 1" (W.Nr. 13 430), crashed due to debris from Russian machine in aerial combat in the Stalingrad area, 100%

Note that no reason such as aerial combat is given for the Bauer incident. I hope this helps.

Thanks for replying. I have most of the data you mentioned - except for Macher, I didn't have neither the Werknummer of this aircraft nor the exact Staffel of the I./JG 53 where he served. Thank you very much!!!
Regarding the causes of loss you mentioned, I did not invent that Bauer was shot down in air combat. I quote Christer Bergstrom (Black Cross Red Star Volume 3, Chapter 19, page 225):
"Still the Jagdgeschwader were also dealt some severe losses in combat with the VVS in 1942. Between June and November 1942, twenty German fighter aces each with 40 or more individual victories were lost in the eastern Front, most of them in air combat. Three of them were '100-plus' aces - Leutenant Fraz Josef Beerenbrock (117 victories, PoW), Oberleutnant Max-Helmuth Ostermann (102 victories, killed), and Oberleutnant Viktor Bauer (106 victories, severely injured), all three falling prey to Soviet fighter pilots."
That is why I list him as downed in air combat.
BTW, his succesor as 9./JG 3's Staffelkapitan, Leutnant Rolf Diergardt (30 victories, Bf.109F-4 Trop W.Nr. 10237), "was lost during an aerial combat on the following day." (Bergstrom, Dikov & Antipov, Black Cross Red Star Volume 3, Chapter 5, page 62). Any idea who could have been his victor? Could be the shared Bf.109 kill claimed by Yak-1 pilot Piotr Piotrovich Dzyuba (2 IAP/220 IAD) that day? Or this loss match better with other claiminant?

Hi,

you must use more reliable sources than this book. No data in NVM of Bauer so this is pure assumption that he was involved in air combat.

11 August 1942: Leutnant Rolf Diergardt, Staffelführer of 9./JG 3, missing in Bf 109 F-4 "Yellow 10" (W.Nr. 10 237) following aerial combat, engine hit, Stalingrad area, 100%

I can say that occasionally there do appear to be minor errors in what Bergström or others have written. For example, in Jagdwaffe War in the East 1944-1945 by Bergström and Pegg which I just obtained yesterday and scanned through I already noticed a few errors:

Page 128: IV./JG 51 did not receive Fw 190 A-8 fighters until April 1945
Page 131: that is not Oberfeldwebel Wilhelm Philipp but Oberleutnant Hans Philipp (note Eichenlaub)
Page 159: Leutnant Friedrich Krakowitzer was killed on 4 July 1944 in Normandy therefore he could not have been present on or after 31 March 1945
