2(K)/LG1, 15.10.1940.
Hi,
I'm looking for information on the following crew for: 15th October 1940. 2(K)/LG1. Junkers Ju88A (3138). Sortie to England (Target?). Believed crashed in the Channel off Falmouth, Cornwall. Fw. Rudi Döscher killed. 3 crewmen missing. Aircraft L1+CK lost. Many thanks Steve (P.S. It's not mentioned in the Luftwaffe Crash Archive)

Gen.Qu. loss return 17 Oct 1940 item 15 and correction from 19 Oct 1940: 15.10. I./LG 1 Feindflug, Ort: Kanal, Ursache: Notlandung infolge Motorschaden, Ju 88 A-1 3138 L1+CK 100%. Fw Döscher, Rudi + Uffz Osterried, Karl vermisst Gefr Annerl, Rudi vermisst Uffz Weiske, Heinz vermisst. Regards Leo |

Hello Steve,
I have to correct my quotation: 17 Oct 1940 Gen.Qu. loss return - 4 crew members vermisst/missing. 19 Oct 1940 Correction - Streiche/delete 4 Vermisste, setze/insert 1 Toten. So 3 of the crew were safe and not missing. Regards Leo |

On the return flight from attacking London 15-16 Oct 40, this ac ditched between Le Havre and Caen. It confirms 3 were rescued by Seenotdienst and one killed

Listing is usually F, B, BF, BM/BS so pilot?

Hello Steve,
in the Gen.Qu. loss return in this case no functions within the crew are listed. According to the Kracker Luftwaffe Archive Fw Döscher was the pilot. Regards Leo |
