Doppelschußgeber?
I found references to this in a Bundesarchiv document about bottlenecks in production. It was clearly a component of automatic weapons such as the MG 131 but can anyone say what the part would be called in English?
The literal translation —"double shot giver" — suggests a part of the feed mechanism but doesn't sound like a proper technical term. |

Re: Doppelschußgeber?
It is not a part of the feed mechanism, but simply a unit that prevents shooting own propeller. It will give a signal to electric fuse (Doppel = for two MG) when firing is allowable, i.e. bullets will fly between the propeller blades. Maybe based on that you can find an English word for this unit.

Re: Doppelschußgeber?
Thanks Matti and Chris. My German dictionary from school didn't cover that!
