Picture of Ludwig Hoffman

Dear friends,

I am looking for a picture of Ludwig Hoffman who ferried a Me262 on 30 June 1945. The aircraft crashed after an engine failure near Cherbourg and Ludwig Hoffman was lucky to escape with his parachute.

By the way, some information on his bio would also be welcome;

Thanks everyone for your constant support.

Re: Picture of Ludwig Hoffman

It's Hofmann not Hoffman.

It's relatively easy to track down biographical information on him on the Internet. I also published a short biography in my book 'Helicopters of the Third Reich'. His grandson has also published a softback book on him:

https://www.amazon.fr/Ludwig-Hofmann...801805&sr=8-21

You're welcome to e-mail me for a photo from his time with Watson's Whizzers. I've also got an mp3 of an interview he gave to Mano Ziegler about his accident if you're interested in that.

Re: Picture of Ludwig Hoffman

thanks for the prompt feedback, Steve.

I will drop you an email (on TOCH mailbox ?) and I am grateful for your support.

Let me give you the full background : I was given parts of this very Me262 that crashed on 30 June 1945. They were were found in the field where it crashed and I plan to write an article about this finding.

So, the picture of Ludwig Hofman (with one f) will be most welcome to illustrate it.

All best
