Operational Orders for main attack on London 7 Sept 1940

I am looking for Operational Orders for the main attack on London on 7 Sept 1940. I have some for I Air Corps from the Luftwaffe War Diaries, but none for II Air Corps. I would like as much info as possible on these.

Re: Operational Orders for main attack on London 7 Sept 1940

Well I am still looking for details of LW units involved for that night but also now for units involved in the bombing of Liverpool on the night of the 28th August 1940. Now Chriss Goss's book 'The Luftwaffe's Blitz' is good from Nov1940, I can't find much for earlier night time raids from the end of August to end of October 1940.

I & II./KG54 were involved in the bombing of London Sept 7th but not on the attack on Liverpool August 28th AFAIK.

Trouble is the link that Carsten posted doesn't specify units

I have only noticed a few fragments in the ULTRA file for the period (TNA HW 5/4) and these are attached. The decoding operation was nothing like as big as it later became and the high-level teleprinter traffic had not been broken.

Re: Operational Orders for main attack on London 7 Sept 1940

For starters, the daylight attack for Luftflotte 3 was all of KG 27, I and III./LG 1, 606, all of KG 55, I./KG 54 and Stab./StG 3 (yes really-a He 111). Night time was II./KG 54, all of KG 51, 806, II./LG 1 and KGr 100. What are you hoping to find out as precise targets were not listed? As to 28 Aug 40, KG 27, LG 1, I./KG 40, 806, KG 51 and KG 55 were involved

Re: Operational Orders for main attack on London 7 Sept 1940

Right now I am interested in units involved in night raids from say Liverpool at the end of August up to the end of October when Chris's book takes over. That of course means also the targets involved. Re The daytime raids for Sept 7th, I have dealt with that somehow. Thanks for the info though.

The Operational Orders for 7th September 1940 are listed on p.49 of After The Battle The Blitz Then And Now Volume 2 (1988).

That is quite a bit of work when full records are incomplete and even then, specific targets are not listed. For a guesstimate, as Bomphoon says, that book is a good starting point as is what Carsten suggested but even then, unit details will be lacking
