KU report -Needle in a haystack

Hi there guys
This is a long shot, but I'm hoping someone can help me find the needle. I'm looking for a KU luftgau report relating to an American aircraft that crashed on the 6th January 1945 near Hanau. Does anyone have a list of KU reports listed by date (covering Jan 1945)?
Many thanks
Captain_M

Hi Captain_M,

the index to KU reports in RG 92 at NARA shows no such KU reports for an aircraft crashing near Hanau (remembering that this American index does not include KE reports still held by the British MoD).

Re: KU report -Needle in a haystack

Cheers for the link Laurent.
I checked out the list and found it very interesting. For a moment I thought I'd hit the jackpot: a Halifax with the marking MH was listed as crashed on the 6th of January 1945. It looked like a reference to Halifax MZ811 (one of the aircraft I'm researching).
My excitement was short lived when Rod pointed out that 51 Squadron lost an aircraft a day earlier near Hannover. Never mind.
Thanks for your help Rod and Laurent.

Did you find anything out about that aircraft?

I just read the excellent explanation about the KE reports from Rod and it seems like the British hold them closed and only for relatives available.

I was wondering whether there are any other reports available, like POW etc. Would it be possible to find out where this a/c went down?

Sounds like the only fact available out in public is the place one of the crew members got picked up by civilians in Jügesheim.
