Uffz. Fritz Neef, 1./JG 27

Hello,

I’m looking for informations and photos of Uffz. Fritz Neef, a pilot of 1./JG 27.
On 30 September 1940 he claimed a Spitfire as his 3rd victory in the morning flight.
Later that same day was wounded in accident, when attempted to start for another sortie.
Were his injuries heavy?
I've found information that he was KiA. When it happened?

I’ll be grateful for every help.

Nef

Unteroffizier Fritz Neef

Hello Nef

There is an entry for 1./JG 27 on 30 September 1940 in which Bf 109 E-1 (W.Nr. 4878) is listed as having been 70% damaged due to Rollschaden at Guines-West. The pilot is listed as have been injured but unfortunately no name is given. Could this have been your guy?

Horrido!

Leo

Re: Uffz. Fritz Neef, 1./JG 27

Many thanks, Leo !

The most possibly You're right.
There was also Lt. Willi Kothmann, who was seriously wounded over England and crashed at Guines that day, but he was member of 2./JG 27.

Best regards, we’re in touch,

Nef
