board getting a bit 'heavy'

Hi,
Is it me ,
or do the discussion seem to be getting a bit heavy,
I know the term is 'discussion' ....
.... but personally I used to visit Toch for a bit of R&R after work, to do some research and help other where possible.
some discussions seem a bit heavy to me.
comments / poll welcome,
if it's me I will crawl back into the keyboard peacefully

:-)

cheers
Jerry

Hello Jerry,

Yours is a most welcome responce.

Yes I agree with you.

Please do not crawl back under cover, that is what all dictators and oppressors want.

Great to know others out there are of the same opinion as myself.

Its not a pleasure any more.

Night

Alex

Hi Alex,
There are a few boards I only 'lurk' now.
Shame if this were to be another.
cheers

So what has that got to do with this forum?

I am really getting tired with this constant bitching.

12 weeks or so, this isn't good, that won't do, the old forum was better...

If you don't like this forum, just stay away.

The word disappointed just doesn't really cover it

Hi Ruy,
Please don't take my comments as directed at your operation of the board,
I am very pleased you take the time to run it, and I am getting used to the new style of the board.
Just think the heavy discussions tend to remove some of the fun of the board.
no offence intended to you.
cheers
Jerry

Re: board getting a bit 'heavy'

Come on, Jerry! The old board did have equally heavy discussions as well. Maybe you just don´t remember them

You nearly had us there, Jerry! For a moment I thought you were complaining, but then I checked the date and I understood.

Admit it, you actually enjoy the rantings of:
  • jingoistic, anglophobic trolls
  • people who absolutely, positively have to get the last word in
  • the clueless who are always looking for a soapbox, any soapbox, to express their heartfelt, but totally irrelevant, convictions.
What would we do without 'em?

(But seriously, it's possible to lose the weight. One of the nice features of the new board is the ability to filter out the 'heavy' posters. Try it, you'll feel immediate relief.)

Re: board getting a bit 'heavy'

Hi Tagjagd,

Thanks for the input.

Do you mean that you can "filter out" those threads that you don't want to read by some means or that you just do not "click" a key to go into them at all ?

If it is some technical way then could you please explain.

Alex

Modeldad will become famous soon enough
Re: board getting a bit 'heavy'

Seems the same mix as always. IIRC, there were pretty out of control discussions on the role of X country's pilots, or shooting down of parachting pilots( they all did it), or what ever....

There were Ed West's pix, questions about pilots and crashes, etc.

Heavy is all in the eyes of the beholder. A book by Tolstoy is heavy to pick up but a delight to read...

Re: board getting a bit 'heavy'

I have to admit that I lied, there is indeed censorship on this forum, since certain words are not allowed to be posted.

f***
s***
s***
c***
c**
s***
b****
c***
p****
f*****
p****
h***
p***
p****

It is a very limited list, but my mind isn't degenerate enough to come up with really juicey stuff. But since I am a Supermoderator, the rules do not apply to me...

So what I have done is post a list of ******* words.
