Scherzyna was killed on ground at Fl.Pl. Saint-Trond (Bombenwurf).

As I am focusing on a material loss, I came - by chance - on an unrecorded loss (no NVM) quoted in Hannes FORKE's war diary.
Extract from the newly released "RAUM 7 history" book written by fellow researcher Roland CHARLIER : (on page 287) on the 24th February 1944, our "Kleiner" (aka Wilhelm HERGET) need to evacuate his aircraft (most probably a Bf 110) following an engine fire. All three escaped and reported safe. No given place but it worths quoting, isn't it!
Obviously, we cannot rule out others NJG's, even those based outside Belgium but this loss is puzzling.

From private source, Herget crashed near Heidelberg on the 24th February 1944, so let's try another one.

By the way, what is the 'engine/propellor rate' shown by the pitch indicator set at '10.00'?

Hi clin ,

I will be wrong , but this pitch-indicator could that not be the manifold pressure indicator from the engine. According to " me " the only engine instruments for a piston engine are RPM indicator , manifold indicator also known as boost ,engine oil temp , oil pressure.

That is the Propeller pitch indicator that ClinA-78 shows.

I am not a Bf 110 specialist but, sure, this is the pitch indicator, set in the engine nacelles, beside two others instruments which may be those attached, measuring (oil or glycol?) temperature and oil/fuel pressure (with 02 inlets).
RPM and boost are in the cockpit.
