Congratulations!
Who are the authors? Is this THE book, which is reportedly under works for more than ten years now? If yes, then it's a must for all Eastern Front enthusiasts...

Does it have the information listed in tabular form, so even non Russian language speakers can find their way through?

S!

At least I found it in my bookstore!

380 RUB Will bye it as soon as possible!

Interesting things mentioned:

Not mentioned Boris Kovzan (AFAIK 28 vic.) - the only pilots who made 4 tarans (ramms)...

Again - THANKS Mikhail for this book!

4 'tarans' (ramming attacks) are the ONLY Kovzan's personal kills. This pilot was very brave man, but bad shooter... Exept 4 'tarans' Kovzan had 3 shared air victories, so his GPW total score is 4+3.

Re: New Russian book: Soviet GPW Fighter Aces 1941-1945

Mikhail,
Do you have any suggestions on how to obtain the book from outside Russia? Will any Western bookstores carry it (with the possibility of being able to pay for it with a credit card)? Or is there someplace one could send cash in an envelope (US$, Euros, or Pounds Sterling would be the major currencies I would think)?

I am looking forward to seeing all three volumes.

Frank.

Re: New Russian book: Soviet GPW Fighter Aces 1941-1945

I just received my copy, bought via books.ru

It's a thick book, with 730 numbered pages. Very nice reading, with lots of names and obviously even more victories listed. Well done, Mr. Bâkov!

I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the VVS, and not only (even if you cannot read Russian).

P.S. I was looking, for example, for Lt. Boris Maslov of 96 OIAE (in 1941), but couldn't find him, although he did claim several victories.
Is anyone from this little known independent naval squadron included in the book?
