Bf 109F with gustav style canopy
Hi everyone
Were there any 109 f variants flying with gustav canopies? Regards Bogdan |

In order to fit the G Canopy, you have to also install the rear, as well as the front windscreen. You would also have to change how the instrument panel mounts.
I am sure that some F's were converted/upgraded to G-0/G-1 at factory...but I do not think they would have retained the "F" designations...they would have simply been rolled out as G versions. The Me109F in Canada was messed up by the Russians, when they installed a G canopy...and made a fake upper instrument panel. So that one is not correct at all. In the field, I think it was unlikely... |
