Re: KG 1 Hindenburg.
The 11 Staffel along with the rest of IV Gruppe was based at Münster-Handorf until late April, the Staffel then transferred independantly to Briansk on 25th April for anti partisan operations, the rest of IV Gruppe operated from Stara Bychov from 17 June 1941.

Are you talking about Kampfgeschwader 1 Hindenburg or are you talking about 11. Staffel of III./KG z.b.V. 1, which was a transport geschwader? 11./KG 1 19-25.4.42: 11.Staffel transferred from Münster-Handorf to Bryansk/Belorussia to support anti-partisan operations in the rear areas of Army Group Center (Heeresgruppe Mitte). These areas had to be secured before the 1942 summer campaign could begin. The Staffel was assigned to 1.Fliegerdivision for operations. 11./KG z.b.V. 1 Apr 42: in the Mediterranean operating into North Africa from Brindisi and Trapani/W Sicily. L. |
