what are your thoughts about that small leading edge ?

marking is :
"N.A.A.
INSP
972"

An American machine? N.A.A. = North American Aviation? 972 = Insp. 972 or inspection point 972?

From the position of the black band on it, I'd say it was a P-51 tailplane leading edge.

each nose rib of stabilizer shows flange notchs and long oval bead flange
