Re: Late war Bf 109 pictures source

Hello Marc,

the unit was 9./JG 6, not JG 4.
Source: Gen.Qu. loss return 29 Dec 1944 item 65.

Matti, thanks for your input. So the entry I had for W.Nr. 785821is wrong ? I had Fhr. Karl Jettner, missing 18 Dec. 44, cause unknown. Source as quoted above (BA-MA Signatur RL 2 III/1170, p. 30).

What is the source for this discrepancy ? Is your data also from BA-MA ?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Marc

My info is from the NVM and checked also from the EKM-Verzeichnis.

I have not any Karl Jettner in any Luftwaffe aircraft crash.

Thanks Matti,

For setting this record straight; it is highly appreciated. Is there by any chance also a location for this crash-landing ?

Sincerely
Marc

Hello Gerhard,

in the Gen.Qu. loss return Fhr Jettner is listed as missing, the WNr. of his Bf 109 G-14 was 785821.
According to the Luftwaffe Kracker Archive Ofhr Fütterer piloted the Bf 109 G-6 WNr. 18587.

Ah darn... precise reference for Fhr. Jettner is GQM 13470/44, 28.12.44, 65. Still listed as missing...

Matti, your thoughts ?

Cheers
