Target towing planes

Hello

Are you knowing what planes were used for target towing, for Flak training ? The only ones I found were the ubiquitous Ju 52 and the old Ju W34.

Thanks in advance !

Regards

Re: Target towing planes

Hello Jean,

Only a start and no doubt others will provide much more detailed information but :

https://www.ww2.dk/air/misc/ziel2.htm

lists some other types operated by Fliegerzielgeschwader 2.

Regards,

Clint

If you send me a PM with your e-mail address, I'll send you an Allied intelligence report on these units I've scanned. Unfortunately, it's too large to attach here.

Re: Target towing planes

One of the Sb-2 used. Note cable installation under fuselage cross.

Well, I remember years ago some discussion about a triangle marking on fuselage that indicates the plane was used for towing. I saved this very old ebay image from a Fw 58 with the triangle.

I do not know why the image is not being shown after being uploaded but you can see the ones I posted in this discussion: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=47202
