Ships sunk in Portugal by Fw-200

Hi,

I'm trying to get information about 3 ships that where sunk by Fw-200 Condors in the Portuguese Coast... I'm trying to find out who where the crews and/or airplanes responsable for the atacks.

The first two ships are british freighters and the last one is portuguese trawler.

- The "Empire Warrior" was sunk by one Condor patrol in the south part of the country on June 19, 1941. The report from the ships captain refers 3 aircraft on the attack and that one of them was damage by the ships fire.

- The SS Dago was sunk on March 15th, 1942 by one isolated Fw-200 near Peniche - north part of the country. All crew survived...

-The "Cabo de S. Vicente" was a portuguese trawler fishing 23 miles Northwest of Cape da Roca when he was targeted by one "grey airplane with no markings". The airplane shot the ship and bombed it. It sunk in a couple minutes but all the crew was able to escape... I'm not shure if this a was a Fw-200, but I leave it here anyway.

Any information is welcomed.

At least I would like to know where I can find this kind of information...

Best regards

Hi Darius,

I also have no idea of which aircraft sunk that ship near Vila Real de santo António. Already have seen some images of the wreck. It is possible to dive there.

Besides those I have metioned and the one you refer there are also the Volturno and Shetland bombed and sunk near Sagres/Cape St. Vicent, in 23 of June of 1943.

And there are others also sunk by U-boats - since WWI.

I would be really interested in locating the aircraft resposable for these atacks... Any information is welcomed...

Thanks onde again,

best regards
