Re: Erkennungsmarke 69645

Thank Peter for a help. I find this EKM nearly my house ( Brno - Czech Rep.) at infantry trenches from 5/1945. It would be interesting story, haw this LW man got there. EKM is unbroken and is not connected with any grave.

Joe

Re: Erkennungsmarke 69645

Hello Remi,

Sorry, but I simply don't have the time to monitor every post. I suggest that you try a PM next time.

NITZSCHE was 69645/25 (lost 13.8.40 not 23.8.40 by the way) while FRIEDRICH was 69645/42. He and NITZSCHE were in the same crew on May 10, 1940, so I suspect some confusion with their respective ID numbers.

Re: Erkennungsmarke 69645

Hallo boys,

do you have some namelist of 69645, or is that only couple of examples?
Would it be possible discover more about pers.nr.251?

One more question. Is it possible that EKM with nr.69645 belongs to someone from aircrewpersonel, or could it be someone from ground crew too ? EKM is made from stainless metal plate.

Thanks Joe

Re: Erkennungsmarke 69645

Many thks Peter, EKM not just for flying personel in my opinion some grown crew hv them, but it could be that they were past flying pers. there is EKM in all the other services of the Wehrmacht , at least with the Kriegsmarine..
