Re: Type Airplane

Hello Tony,

ooops-alla! Your pics are a little bit too tiny for a halfway possible identification.

By rubbing my eyes: Ju W 34 hau or even a Ju 52?

Re: Type Airplane

Hi Tony

A very small blurry image...but definitely a Junkers W34 and engine cowling looks like a W34 hi rather than hau.

Happy New Year

Ian

Re: Type Airplane

Sorry for the poor photo but I try to put a beter one by the messege next time
But thanks Ian I think you are raid it's a Ju W34 .
This plane made an emerency landing on the 25th Februari 1937 near Hunsel (This is a small village in the south of Holland )
I think it was on a spy mission over Holland the two pilots are arrested by the police but after two days the plane was refueld and they flew back to Germany .
The code on the fuselage was D-O L U-I

Re: Type Airplane

Thanks for the better photos and the interesting story behind them. The photos very clearly show that D-OLUI was a Junkers W34hi, but I have no other information on this particular aircraft.

Note…there is not a ‘-‘ marking between the U and I. This is a window, which always made it difficult to correctly position a complete code on this a/c type.

Re: Type Airplane

Hi Ian

Thank you for the quick response .It wil be difficult to get an answer what this Junker did in the sky above Holland feb 1937 .
But older people from the village told me that the pilot was lost and that he was thinking that he was flying over the river Rhein but instead he was flying over the river Maas and he was short of petrol so they have to make an emergency landing at the hamlet of Haler .

Regrads , Tony

Re: Type Airplane

This aircraft was a Junkers W.34 hi Werk-Nummer 344 and accepted by the Luftwaffe in August 1935.
