Re: Photo DFW B.I

Nice find Clint

Herris (and probably predecessors as well) are very non-committed with regard to DFW B-types

Checking what I now have of the B.I type, ie B.288/14, B.290/14 and B.299/14 its seems fairly reasonable to assume
everything in between also were B.Is, ie a range of at least B.288/14 to B.299/14

Opinions please?

Cheers
Stig

Re: Photo DFW B.I

Hi Stig,

I agree with you that a more complete list of this range of DFW B.I would be desirable.

I actually have B.288/14 as an AEG B.II.

At present I have a blank for B.289/14, so that is potentially the earliest starting point for this serial range.

Like yourself I have B.290/14 and as the highest number serial in that range B.300/14.

The difficulty lies in knowing where this batch terminates, although I have a number of serials for various aircraft in between, the next definite serial I have for a B type in 1914 is an Aviatik P 14 at B.324/14 so the DFW range could extend considerably beyond B.300/14.

Regards,

Clint

Re: Photo DFW B.I

Aha

My general list is one I took from the 'net long time ago.
Never realized any of those Bestellnummer had changed, doh

Generally it seems C, D and G types are far better known then the earlier (and less interesting) A and B types. Pity!

Cheers
Stig
