RAF fighter in Vietnam

Hi guys

I've been reading on another website about British servicemen involved in the Vietnam War. Mention was made of at least one RAF exchange fighter pilot who flew Phantoms with the USAF. Any ideas?

We had an RAF exchange pilot and radar observer in our F-4 squadron while based at NAS Atsugi, Japan (near Tokyo). We were the first Marine fighter-attack squadron sent into Vietnam in March, 1965. The British Embassy in Washington D.C. informed the Marine Corps they were not permitted to go into Vietnam with us, and to return them to the US to complete their exchange tour.

Well the squadron would have been VMFA-314, if the above info is correct, and it maybe worth contacting their website:

Maybe they didn't return to the US, as ordered, straight away.
