Captain Robert Pardo 10. March 1967
At that day Capt. Pardo used his F-4 to push a fellow American's badly damaged jet from North Vietnam into friendly territory.
My questions: Unit of both Airmen and how he did this?????? |

Re: Captain Robert Pardo 10. March 1967
Hello Hans,
I don't have all my references about air war over Vietnam close at hand, but you should do a search with "Pardo's push", as this specific maneuver is known since. And for once, you can also check wikipedia |

Re: Captain Robert Pardo 10. March 1967
Hans,
F-4Ds 63-7653 and 64-0839 were lost in the process, but all four crew were rescued. Unit concerned was 8th TFW, 433rd TFS. Also check out http://www.8tfw.com/pages/aircraftlosses.htm Regards, Leendert |

Re: Captain Robert Pardo 10. March 1967
Hans,
Small correction in my previous post, but same outcome: a/c were F-4C types and not F-4D. Regards, Leendert |
