missions of III/KG100 july 1944

Hello,

according messages ULTRA, in july 1944, III/KG100 carried missions over Seine bay during nights 4 to 5 july, 9 to 10 july, 16 to 17 july, 17 to 18 july and 24 to 25 july.
Other missions were planned for nights 11 to 12 july and 13 to 14 july and then canceled.
Missions were also planned for nights 12 to 13 july and 14 to 15 july. Can someone tell me if these missions have taken place or have been canceled.

Thanks for help

Claude

Re: missions of III/KG100 july 1944

12/13 July: two aircraft of III./KG 100 were heard homing on Toulouse, so the Allies thought they had at least tried to carry out an attack.

14/15 July: the operation planned for dawn on the 15th was cancelled.

Re: missions of III/KG100 july 1944

it seems to fit perfectly with the project of operation related in ULTRA XL1789 : flight out via Toulouse, Tours and target / return flight over coast over Trouville between 20:40 and 21:10 GMT. The attack was planned with 3 aircraft : so only 2 seems to have operated.

Once again all my thanks Nick.

I describe these missions in my book Warriors & Wizards. When I return home, I'll post the relevant info here.

Re: missions of III/KG100 july 1944

Sorry, Claude. I don't have more details for the 12/13 July mission.

The only missions I have for 14/15 July are the well documented attacks on the afternoon of 15 July at St. Raphael by III./KG 100 using Hs 293 glide bombs and the last use of the PC 1400FX.
