Re: Do 217 II/KG 40 w.n. 5580 on 16/17-2-1943

Chris and Remi,
Thanks very much for the info. The book ''Operation Wasservogel'' referred to a Do 217 of II/KG 40 being destroyed on landing at Evreux . Apparantly it had been hit by a Nightfighter and had been laying mines off Beachy Head. I could not find El roux/Reux on a map is it a mis-spelling of Evreux, or is the loss of 5580 a separate incident to the loss in the book ?

Thanks

Sounds a good supposition as Bergert (Johannes by the way) is buried at Chamipgny
