Chris Goss has a spectacular aura aboutChris Goss has a spectacular aura about
Lt Karl Höflinger, III/KG 77

The above was awarded the RK 7 Mar 41 and stated to have been in 9/KG 77. However, he was lost on 18 Apr 41 flying in a 7/KG 77 ac and some records say he flew with 8/KG 77. Can anyone confirm one way or the other his Staffel and do any photos of him exist?

8./KG 77 per the Gen.Qu. loss. Of course these aren't always accurate. Neither Foreman or Brutting supplied the Staffel. It will be interesting to see if the new book from Start Verlag gives more information.

Urbanke's Start Verlag is publishing a 2-volume series on the Kampfflieger RK winners, apparently the gentleman who continued Ernst Obermaier's work on same has finished his work. I'm looking forward to seeing this.

Re: Lt Karl Höflinger, III/KG 77

Chris just out of curiosity, i have Hoflinger crop up in my records as an Uffz serving with 9/KG77 as early as 9.39, whilst on ops during the Polish Campaign, If this is of interest!

Best regs,
Steve.
