Seven of the Corsair equipped Fleet Air Arm Squadrons claimed victories in combat - 1830; 1833; 1834; 1836; 1837; 1838 and 1841.

BTW WK Munnock, NN Brynildsen, FC Starkey and K Seebeck were 1833 Sqn.

Hi,
Quite right, Munnoch & Co were 833 Squadron ! for some rreason Shores in "Air War For Burma" notes them as 1830 !

just looking at Ray Sturdevants Corsair listing and it throws up some additional oddballs!, he notes a Sub.Lt.M.Barbour shooting down a Zero over Sabang on the 25 July 1944 flying JT.203 ?

Good stuff.

I have a couple of different interpretations.

25.07.1944 Tiddles Brown of 1830 shared his victory with Bud Sutton of 1833. Jerry Morgan of 1838 and Matt Barbour of 1830 each damaged "Zekes" (actually Ki43) Maybe confirmed later?

Hansons victory of 24.01.1945 was shared with his flight, as were two other jap fighters damamged.

Winnie Churchill and Jimmy James of 1833 damaged a Betty bomber on the ground 24.01.1945
