Anyone know what happened to this young man?
I've always wondered how this kid turned out: who he was, where he spent the rest of the war, and what he did post war.
Anyone? Bronc Last edited by Broncazonk; 30th May 2020 at 04:14. |

Re: Anyone know what happened to this young man?
From another web source:
Operation Bodenplatte - 1 January, 1945 Gefreiter Alfred Michel 59741/775 – Captured POW (Obviously) - Born 26.06.1922 in Fulda Blue 2 - Messerschmitt Bf 109G-14 - Werk Nr. 462829 16./JG53 stationed at Leinfelden Echterdingen Blue 2, flown by Gefr. Alfred Michel of 16./JG53 developed engine trouble (from ground AA fire) and was forced to belly-land near Waldweisdorf. He ended up with a large bump on his forehead (probably from striking gunsight) but otherwise was unhurt. This was Alfred Michel’s first combat mission, he became a prisoner of the 90th Infantry Division. Last edited by Broncazonk; 5th February 2019 at 02:48. |
