Lt Clostres GC III/3 May 11, 1940

Hi !
On May 11,1940, Lieutenant Clostres of GC III/3 had to land his damaged Morane 406 at Marchovelette (Belgium) . He can return to his unit.
Which was the serial of this plane and which is the full name of this French pilot ?

Many thanks and best regards

Luc

Bonjour,

Full name = Daniel Clostres. He was a reserve pilot (he was 35 yers old in may 1940).

He died in march or may 1941 in the RAF the middle east.

I do not have the number of his Morane.

Regards.

Bonjour Rémi,

Many thanks for the full name.

The website of SGA / Mémoire des hommes mentions him :

Best regards

Andrei,

Thanks for the additional information regarding his unit and his final flight.

He is mentioned on the CWGC website as F/O Clostre Daniel Henry Jules 274 Squadron RAF(VR) 60754 buried at Halfaya Sollum war cemetery.

Best regards from Belgium,
