The Cockpit Show 14th & 15th August Headcorn Kent
COMBINED OPS 2010 - COCKPIT SHOW 14th & 15th August 2010 Headcorn Aerodrome, Headcorn, Ashford, Kent Owners of aircraft cockpits are invited to display them to the public at the Combined Ops (3500 visitors in 2009). From newly acquired wrecks through to fully restored cockpits, all are welcome at the Cockpit Show. The main display site is located at the side of the military vehicle show close to the entrance to the show on a gravel car park. There is no charge for you to exhibit at the Cockpit Show, but prior booking is essential. On site camping is available for exhibitors with a marquee & bar open until late & quality catering outlets on site. It is planned that there will be several aviation/aerojumble type stalls as part of the show trade site. To book your cockpit in to the show contact Trevor Matthews at lashendenairwar@aol.com Telephone 01622 631799 (evenings) or download the booking form from the museum website www.lashendenairwarfaremuseum.co.uk To book a sales stall at the show contact Malcolm and Gabi Dunlop 01303 267271, visit the IMPS website www.imps.org.uk/index2. or download a booking form from the museum website www.lashendenairwarfaremuseum.co.uk ABOUT THE SHOW Following the success of Combined Ops in 2009 with over 350 vehicles displayed, 25 living history groups & the show attracting over 3500 members of the public over 2 days, IMPS and Headcorn Aerodrome have once again joined forces to present COMBINED OPS - an exciting military weekend with classic aircraft at the historic World War Two Advanced Landing Ground of Lashenden Airfield, now operated as Headcorn Aerodrome, in Kent. This year the show will include: Commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain with a ‘fly-in’ of historic Military and Civilian aircraft, featuring The Historic Aircraft Collections Hawker Hurricane G-HURI flown by Anna Walker and Rob Davies’ P51D Mustang G-HAEC “Big Beautiful Doll” Aircraft will be landing and taking off continuously during the two days of the show, and we anticipate owners of individual aircraft putting on small displays. Aircraft will be parked along the flight-line, and pilots will be encouraged to walk through the showground and in the public arena. Static Military vehicle displays, there will be themed displays, such as Vietnam, REME, Fighting Rovers, etc, as well as individual vehicles. Living History and Re-enactment Groups are being invited to put on static displays as well as arena demonstrations. Invitations are being made to specific groups who reflect an appropriate image for a family show. Arena events including the usual vehicle drive rounds, tank and armoured vehicle demonstrations, and re-enactments. Military stalls to service everyone’s needs from vehicle parts to uniforms and books. Parachute jumping by the local Parachute club. The Lashenden Air Warfare Museum The Cockpit Show Steven Bungay signing his authorative book on the Battle of Britain ‘The Most Dangerous Enemy’.
