Death of the "mouse" - Horst Carganico

Although not particularely my topic I came upon the death of Hptm. Horst Carganico, the CO of I./JG.5 on May 27, 1944, and I don´t know if it had been a topic before.
I was looking for the one, who chased this "Eismeer" ace to death - he reportedly flew at low level into high tension wires near Chevry.

I came about combat reports of P-51 pilots and stumbled over the one of 1Lt G.T.Moran of 352 FG, who describes a combat of 20 minutes duration against a yellow wing tipped Bf.109 in the Strasbourg area down to the deck using flaps three times until it finally exploded (see attachment).

Time and location could fit, but there were big clashes in the area with many Jagdgruppen and FG involved.

So could somebody shed a light into it and maybe list the victory claims of the US 8th AF pilots on 27.05.44

Thanks in advance

Re: Death of the "mouse" - Horst Carganico

Thanks!
The old threads provide no answer...but I think Clarence "Bud" Anderson´s claims referr to different pilots or to an earlier attack. Time and place seems right, but not the height (between 8.500-8.000m).
Anyway it´s a start!
