He111 Wekusta 51 shot down 12/6/40

Hi guys

Does anyone know the WrNr and markings of this aircraft, flown by Oblt Gerd Nissen, which was shot down off the East Coast on 12 June 1940?

Thanks in advance
Brian

Undoubtedly far too late to be of use Brian, but AIR 40/2397 (K-Report No 140/1940) identifies the Heinkel 111 as 4T+BH. Quoting the reference Start and mission: From an aerodrome in Middle Germany, at 0530 hours, on General Reconnaissance. No bombs carried.

The time datum is not given but I believe it to be BST. I think the aerodrome was Roth but am happy to be corrected.

Hi Brian

Thanks for the memory but, as you say, too late for my work! Perhaps someone else will find it of use.

Cheers
Brian
