Can anyone ID the mishap with this Fw200, F8+CB of I./KG40 at Trondheim?

Hello,

Can anyone put a date and crew with this cracked up Fw200, F8+CB, reported at Trondheim, Norway?

Thanx,

Hi Larry,

You can notice the FuG 200 radar on the nose. That alone whould date the picture in 1942 or even much later. This code I have from following "mission reports" dates.

F8+CB OPS 26.03.1941 Bx/Stavanger ( )
F8+CB OPS 30.03.1941 Sv/Stavanger ( )
F8+CB OPS 08.04.1941 Bx/Bordeaux ( )
F8+CB OPS 29.03.1941 Bx/Stavanger ( )
F8+CB OPS 12.04.1941 Sv/Bordeaux ( )
F8+CB C-3 OPS 24.05.1941 Bordeaux/Brest (0050)
F8+CB OPS 23.08.1941 Cognac/Cognac ( )
F8+CB OPS 03.10.1941 Cognac/Cognac ( )
F8+CB OPS 06.10.1941 Cognac/Cognac ( )
F8+CB OPS 19.07.1942 Vs/Vaernes ( )
F8+CB OPS 28.07.1942 Vs/Vaernes ( )
F8+CB OPS 03.08.1942 Vs/Vaernes 04. ( )
F8+CB OPS 09.08.1942 Vs/Vaernes ( )
F8+CB OPS 15.08.1942 Vs/Vaernes ( )
F8+CB OPS 18.08.1942 Vs/Vaernes ( )

I am not that much of Fw 200 specialist but version is likely C-3 or later.

Best regards
ed

Chris,

your +BK crash has right u/c and wing broken,
but this +CB has left u/c and wing on ground

Ed and Chris,

Thanks for your inputs. Your information puts this outside the time period for the EOE Project (to the end of 1940), so I don't need to give this further consideration. I'm sure others, however, will be interested in the photo of this incident, especially some of our research friends in Norway.

Warm regards,

Ed: You are right! Trouble is there are too many accidents at Vaernes to positively identify this without a Wk Nr

Thanks Larry for posting.

Yes, indeed Chris, but I wonder if this was perhaps ex-TA+MG (look at traces of StKz. T+A just visible under the right wing),

then W.Nr. 0205 (40% Er due engine failures) on 20.6.43 comes up as candidate - no location is given for this accident in LWFLV losses - but FuG 200 Radar + camouflage & markings, might indicate this time frame.

Best regards

TA+MG/0205 suffered 40% dam at Vaernes on 20 Jun 43 so perhaps you are correct
