Hello,
Lw. Kdo West does not mention a day light attack on the Oppenheim bridgehead by Ju 88 a/c march 23, 1945!. JG 2 and JG 53 attacked Oppenheim
JG 53: 48 Me 109 made armament attacks on assault boats on the Rhine near Nierstein-Oppenheim from 06.00-07.55
JG 2: 47 Fw 190 in two sorties from 06.55 and 11.00 hrs on similar task
JG 53: 44 Me 109 from 14.10-15.28 and 17.50-19.15 hrs.
17 broke off (technical), 6 made low level attacks on the pontoon bridge near Oppenheim and other road and traffic targets in the Nierstein-Oppenheim area.
